Magic: the Gathering in the UK

So the Archenemy release is this Saturday, and it would be nice to have more than the three people who have signed up so far attending. Planechase release was pretty good, and this looks like an even better format. It could well be the last time Magic is fun since the next release is M11! Plus, there's some actual decent cards in the decks - especially if you're looking to build an EDH deck. How could anyone resist?

All the decks were awesome except the artifact one which turned out to be completely useless in most of the games it was played in. The scheme cards are mostly fine, but can cause some pretty extreme blowouts when the archenemy hits the good ones - in the first game I played the black reanimtor deck was the archenemy and managed to renimate the Sundering Titan from the artifact deck on turn 4 which basically ended the game.

Was Archenemy any good?
Yeah the artefact deck was terrible, both as archenemy and as a member of the opposition. It just didn't really do anything. I'm sure you can eventually get greaves, transmuter and duplicate out to kill the shit out of anything on the board, but it is very fragile to the green deck. Wickerbough elder + incremental blight is sad times..

Felt very swingy tbh, although I reckon archenemy edh would actually be quite a lot of fun.
