I dont believe that is true at all. In fact im sure I have read the opposite.

I'm fairly sure based on what I've read that the results of the prerelease will determine what the third set of Scars block will be. So if you're sick of having to play infect decks in limited, you can make your voice heard by joining the Mirran faction and kicking some Phyrexian ass. Of course, if you love poison and would like nothing better than to see more infect cards in the third set, you can always take the Phyrexain boosters....

Admittedly, all my information comes from unsubstantiated rumor and baseless speculation that I'm passing off as fact in order to appear well-informed.

I also think this is wrong.  Pretty sure Mark Rosewater says in this interview that they already know which side wins. (haven't rewatched it though)

I'm fairly sure I've heard that too.

Nope, we have all the status and points that we need (ran a PTQ last year).  We don't do FNM anymore because only stores or groups affiliated with a store are allowed to run them now and we are independent.  Which sucks.

I briefly tried to find out what this was all about and just discovered a load of weird Wizards marketing stuff about being able to play something or other at core level play network places. Or something. Is this why the MK people don't do FNM any more? They don't have enough WizardPoints(tm)??

PV says (Channel Fireball article) that Phyrexian is more swingy and that the best and worst decks will come from that.  Tom (Reeve)'s article on SCG also talks about it, and draft with faction packs (which sounds terrible).
