Magic: the Gathering in the UK

Idea: generate a random block of three sets from the history of Magic.  Ban all cards that cost more than 1 tix* according to mtgotraders.com prices on the morning of the start.  Build a deck with sideboard.  Play out matches with either proxies or on modo over the next 2 weeks or so.  If enough players (unlikely?) have a scheduled top 4 or top 8 either in person or on modo.

Thoughts?

* = Does this restriction or possibly a lower threshold than this make the format significantly worse?  Or just different?  Ideally we want to make the decks trivially affordable on modo so that people in weird places (Mills, Gary, me, whoever) can play matches.  Possibly just proxying and playing in person some time is better but I am encouraged to try out the modo angle.

Yeah this sounds sweet, in!

In - the best way to see how the restriction pans out is to just give it a go, however, cards in T2 are pretty expensive on mtgo, and cards from random old sets like Mirage block and Invasion block, so I guess that may enforce limitations on sets, as any remotely playable card in those sets costs quite a bit.
