Magic: the Gathering in the UK

Well, at last we know the details, and they'll take ~15 hours :s
6 rounds of PTQ_Q, then the event itself.
I'm feeling slightly tempted, but expecting to have to do this with at least 2 people, if not more, possibly working in shifts.
Someone correct me, but won't almost all (all?) of these be impossible for anyone who has a job?
It seems strange to not have the PTQ_Qs maybe during the week, before the main event at the weekend?
What does everyone else think?

They also don't seem to give travel awards.
No, but they give $1000 at the PT from the draft thing they Q you for, so that's their equivalent.
Wait, you have to play MTGO for approximately SIX HOURS just to quality for the PTQ itself which then happens one hour after the end of the PTQ_Q? And the "best" start time for someone based in the UK for this craziness is midday on a Sunday?

I guess they will ensure only dedicated (teams of) people qualify. How against the rules is it for a group of people to all take their laptops to someone's flat and sit around for 18 hours playing Magic and helping each other? I guess they can't really detect it so they haven't bothered to legislate for it?

Picking your shootout will be interesting. Do you want to get in one with 33 players or one with 512?
I don't think they'll be firing ptqqs with that few people in it, but even if they do, 32 people get 6 rounds of swiss, so it wouldn't make a difference, you'ld still be playing swiss "correctly".
The timing does seem to suck for Europe- not a single one starts between 0000 and 1200!
So who is gonna be the 1st one to pay PVDDR to 'Q' them :p
