Up until the point he stabilizes his cards are:

Dreamspoiler Witches
Glen Elendra Archmage
Riftwing Cloudskate
Pestermite
Warren Weirding
Echoing Truth
Faerie Macabre
Absorb Vis

And his opponents cards are:

Yosei, the Morning Star
Cloudgoat Ranger
Binding Beam
Flickerwisp
Mulldrifter
Bonesplitter
Errant Ephemeron
Pestermite
Mothdust Changeling
Blinkmoth Nexus

Neither of them has any real mana trouble.

Somehow that adds up to a win for Sam.  Pretty good.

Death denied is such a beating in limited attrition games

He had actually stabilized and was starting to win before the Death Denied.  But it does help him put it away.

I'm not sure he was exactly stable, having the counter for the second cloudgoat was pretty pivotal but he didn't have anything resembling a good defence. Really liked his plays with the Dreamspoiler and various shenanigans, I think he was playing with death denied in mind too as he was more than happy to trade off for value at the right points. His opp was unlucky to brick on draws though, had 2 lands and the W split second do nothing card in hand at the end.

Have to point out that this was not Sam's main, registered deck (UG that he played in game 1). Neither was it his sideboard go-to deck (RW Giants that he played in game 2). It was a third deck he had constructed on the fly to beat the deck his opponent presented in game 2. http://www.starcitygames.com/article/26402_Grand-Prix-Las-Vegas.html
