Magic: the Gathering in the UK

Hey guys I'm looking to start studying accountancy from home.

I was wondering if anyone knows if I would be eligble for any sort of grant or student loan, or where I could go to find out.

Had a look online but can't seem to find anything at the moment.

There are various sources of funds. It depends on what kind of course you are doing and what institution you are studying with. You can get information from:

- Learner Support Helpline on 0800 121 8989 7am to 8pm.

This page is also very good. Although it is aimed mostly at A-Level students of school leaver age it has good sections on "Other Sources of Funding" and "Over 19s Can Learn and Earn Too":

You can't get Education Maintenance Allowance because you are over 19 but you may be able to get:

- Discretionary Support Funds - If you're at a college, speak to your student support or welfare officer.
- Adult Learning Grant (ALG)
- Career Development Loan (CDL)

Possibly useful docs:

The direct.gov.uk is generally much better than you might expect and worth checking out.
Thanks tom will check all that out at the weekend.

I would try the local council first. Also what Tom suggested is a good place to start too. Perhaps adult colleages which have accountancy courses, they would have a good idea if you are eligble for any grants. Good luck.
Which qualification? Amar's a pretty much qualified ACA, and I'm about 6 months into studying for that, but ACCA, CIMA, CTA, and the rest all have at least a reasonable amount of overlap.
The college I go to is Kaplan Financial, there is also BPP and the London School of Business and Finance.
I would check out those places and see if they know of any specific places where you can get funding for accountancy training.
