How did everyone do last weekend?

lost 1 to a deck that just seemed to have all the blue black plainswalkers in, I think he had 3 out in both games with tumble magnets as backup and I also lost the tezz build of the poison deck, it was a brutal match.

 

If poss can I borrow the deck next weekend, I don'tt mind dropping it back into you first?

the rains is not a bad idea, might actually run some liliana's as they were all kinds of sauce for james

Tbh I'm not so sure whether Lili is better than Tezz in UB infect, you're not playing chalices to ramp so you're going to tap out T5 to force a card from their hand + fog, or -2 to put a crusader or skittles on top. If they drop a big jace in their turn you're fucked. Tezz grabs a clasp, magnet or necropede into your hand, pumps a nexus or turns a clasp into a blocker. If you're running Plague Myr (still not sure if this is right) then he gets better.

Couple of interesting things:

 

I didn't play BSZ or Wurmcoil Engine all day (I had them in my hand plenty of times)

I used all 15 cards of my sideboard

Liliana Vess was nuts!

Mana leaking a turn two Lotus Cobra generally leads to bad times (summoning trap) :(

Tumble magnet is really really good right now.

The deck seems very strong Vs Valakut

I didn't play Caw-Blade once

I've been v impressed with running tumble magnet as a 4 of, shutting down sword carriers/battlecruisers each turn is awesome especially if you're playing a midrange or control deck. They're still good on an aggro plan as well, turning off blockers and letting you deal with PWs. Perhaps up the magnet to 4 instead of wurmcoil and the maindeck duress or BSZ?

 

I'm not convinced by Lili though, she seems weak against Caw Blade, your pairings notwithstanding it's probably the most popular deck in the room. Blue Sun's Zenith could be an option for that late game overpowering play?

I honestly never got a real late game, I was either dead in the water by turn 6 or they were, I just didn't have enough threats to take down a tumble magnet and a plainswalker and that now seems fairly standard fair for a lot of decks, sideboard also needs to change from lots that help against aggro (already very strong match) to the control matches, I fear a long trawl through gatherer to see what options, maybe just having more dorks in the board might help, also poss good vs aggro

Yeah I didn't face down many (any?) tumble magnets the other week, maybe Vatmother is worth bringing in? Seems like a decent man, although is horrible against the mirror.

Mills can you beat a Gaea's Revenge out of Valakut, outside of blocking with Grave Titan/3 Tokens? He might need to show up again in the sideboard.

maybe make sure there are 4 duress in the sideboard might make a difference
