Unfortunately Dan although it is a lovely friendly casual format you'll probably have the same problem I had with my Enchantress EDH with Genju of the Fields as general. Even though I didn't even particularly want to cast the guy the fact that he was a Legendary Enchantment not a Legendary Creature meant as often as not people made me switch to Progenitus with great indignation.

I wouldn't mind, though.

the difference between spider spawning and burning vengeance is quite interesting -

the spider spawning deck worked with a variation of cards and you only needed one of a each - the decks would come out slightly different each time - some with spawning as the win - some aiming for the combo - some winning with maniac. you also didnt need all the pieces to make the deck - you could even not have spider spawning if you had enough other stuff and one of the other win…

Burning vengeance needed vengeance in multiples to be good. so was more dependant on one card.

It is very possible to design a draft set that allows for spider spawning type decks - you just make cards that care about the same things - like your graveyard cube. it seems likely, with good design that a set like this would develop over time as new interactions were spotted. designing a set that allows for decks like vengeance seems harder (if there are not multiples) unless you have tutoring effects.

even then i dont think vengeance style strategies are as good as spawning ones as they rely on one card, and a good vengeance deck looked the same at the start of innistrad as it did at the end. this is not true of the various mill strategies.
i'm just putting one in my bi…tag:demonictutor.ning.com,2012-02-15:3440403:Comment:504972012-02-15T15:36:12.194Zross mileshttps://demonictutor.ning.com/profile/rossmiles
