Ben,

I've just looked through your list of cards in more detail. A few things stand out:

Fire Ambush - I'd imagine there are enough good burn spells that a sorcery speed Incinerate is not good enough

Gamble - I had this in my old cube for a while. Virtually no one ever played it. That isn't necessarily a bad thing, as having cards that are narrow means that the drafting is meaningful and you are not left with a glut of playables all the time

Glorious Anthem - I don't know how much support tokens and anthems have in your cube, but I think it needs more than you might think. In my ~500 card cube I have at least 3 anthems and plenty of token makers and I still have not seen anyone draft that deck

Grim Backwoods - This card is actually pretty poor, I'd run Miren, the Moaning Well over this if you want a similar effect

Hystrodon - I think he has been outclassed by other creatures these days. I assume you are running Viper and Selkie all ready?

Mind's Desire - you mention taking out Storm in your post, but you still have Desire here

Ruhan of the Fomori - This guy always goes last pick it seems. RWU is an unusual enough colour combination, and almost always control, where you don't really want a big dumb creature who can't block

Vinelasher Kudzu - This guy wasn't even great in constructed where you could guarantee having some triggers, in cube it's even less likely he will come together. This and Quirion Dryad have certainly been outclassed as creatures

Visara - So many good black finishers these days that I don't think Visara is good enough anymore

I'm guessing your cube is going to be pretty big (720 cards?) so that is probably why these are here

Thanks for the input, good spot on Mind's Desire! The cube is 720 cards, as the original modo cube was. You make good arguments in all cases but my plan initially is just to get all of the cards together (aside from storm) and refine from there. I'll end up with a "cube sideboard" folder for all of the cards that I'm not happy with and cards that get replaced by new cards etc..
