Magic: the Gathering in the UK

So after a 3 way tie for first between Nathan, Maor and Myself... a dramatic roll off yielded first place for me, second for Nathan and third for Maor.

Instead of including the sealed packs as prizes we cracked them and redrafted the rares from them too.  I think this worked well, so we'll see what everyone wants to do next week.

Here is the table for M13:

1    Ben    28
2    Ross    27
3    Kieran    20
4    Russ    18
5    Charlie    18
6    Andrew    12
7    Nathan    12
8    Levi    11
9    Maor    10
10    Simon    8
11    Rebecca    8
12    Ray    4
13    Dan Waine    4
14    Dan Royde    3
15    Marek    2
16    Amar    2
17    Phil    1
18    Allan    1
19    Joe    1
20    Paul    1
21    Mills    1

Next week.

1. Ben

2. Ross

3. Charlie

4. Nathan

5. Kieran

6. Paul

7. Levi

8. Phil

IN!

in : ) i'm working that day but I should be done in time, will be sure to update you if not!

I'm in for next week. Redrafting the extra rares at the end was pretty good - much better than taking two packs that end up having nothing but junk in.

In! Sorry I missed it this week, was still ill :(

In!

i should be able to make this one!

+me for reserve k thx plz ok.

Guys Jason has offered us triple Time Spiral draft with M13 prizes for tonight.  It's going to be a bit steeper at £19.50, but having never drafted this supposedly awesome format I'm quite keen to give it a go.  Thoughts?

Time spiral is indeed awesomesauce, although it does play out a little differently post damage on the stack (with morphs etc). TBF I'm happy to draft M13

also, the ev of opening TSP (for those who care about that kind of thing) is pretty bad, best cards are vesuva, academy ruins, akroma and avatar of woe

As this is more expensive to do (not sure how that one works - aren't we using old product that they haven't been able to shift since back then?) I think we'll have to put it to a full vote on the night - it would be a bit harsh to make people pay more if they don't want to draft it. I'd be up for it, though - I hear it's pretty awesome.

box of TSP = £150, box of M13 = £90

Word of warning, if you are new to TSP, and especially if you didn't play back in the early days and/or are not aware of those cards, a lot the set isn't going to make sense. So many callbacks and nostalgic nods to the first 10-15 years or so of MTG.

The draft format is pretty complex, with so many keywords and crazy stuff flying about, but is pretty cool (synergy is important!)
