Magic: the Gathering in the UK

PT and GP Paris

Hi all,

My name is Aaron Dos Remedios and I recently moved to this country from Canada. I have already met some of the people here (thanks for Warren V. for introducing me to this group).

I am wondering what people's plans for the Magic weekend in Paris are. When is everybody going? Where are people staying? I am currently heading out on Friday (I can't take time off work so I'll be missing the PT) and heading back on Sunday night. I have yet to book tickets on Eurostar but that is my current plan. Is that generally the best way to travel from London to Paris if time is an issue?

edit: I thought Warren's name was Jeremy again. I did it on Saturday too and don't know why it keeps happening

There are a load of people going (15-20 or so Londoners), mostly Wed-Mon, though I am going Thurs-Sun (coming back on the 17.43 train).

Eurostar is almost certainly the best way to get there and back, indeed.

Hope to meet you at the pre-release on Saturday, you can get to know some of the people you'll undoubtedly be spending some time with in Paris!

eurostar is pretty much the easiest way. Some flights can be cheaper but then you have to consider the cost/effort of getting to/from the airport at either end.

I don't know what other people are planning but nathan g, josh t, mills and myself are all staying thurs-mon at a hotel ~5 mins walk from the venue. i think most of us are going to be about on saturday so come and say hello!

I don't think I'll be going to Paris anymore. I failed to book Eurostar tickets early so the cheapest that I can get there for now is something like 180 pounds. I will be checking daily for last minute plane and train deals though.

However, that means that I don't really care about my rating anymore and can try to make the prerelease. It depends on how much work I have to do this weekend and how much money I have...I believe I've got something like 75 pounds that have to last me until I get my paycheque on Monday. Open duelling might be the ticket...I've always loved that.
