there are two free car parks close by. Obviously I have no idea about the legality of parking you van there and sleeping in it.

Unfortunately there is no shower :-(

As to arriving early. There will be nothing official laid on however the pub is a nice place to drink and I'm sure they won't mind you throwing down some cardboard while having some pints. The car parks are free from friday evening so parking shouldn't be a problem.
