Simon 1 - 1 Tom

Tom on the play prevents Scepter ever being played. Golem beats down faster than Elixir gains life. Simon on the play makes it impossible for Tom to play out his guys without them being killed.

Golem doesn't stop scepter but Tom does win on the play because he makes a 7/5 before simon can get an activation.

what are you guys saying? Simon can't cast Helix once Tom resolves Golem...

I was saying the result was right for the wrong reason. The match up depends on whether simon can kill golem before ravager is cast.  I don't think golem stops sceptre because the copies go straight onto the stack and are not cast. Could be wrong though?

you still have to cast the copy so you do need to pay the extra 1. IF you weren't a limited player and IF you hadn't been out of the game for at least the last year and IF you were playing in 2003 you would know this ruling thom, so you basically have no excuse

fair enough.  tom wins 2-0 then.

lol just on the slim chance you are misinterpreting me i am very much joking when i say you have no excuse

need to start next-next-next-leveling for the next round now. are we going to cycle back to the weird discard metagame or continue exploiting land destructionnnn

Oooh, that puts me very close to a third victory.  I have been trying to make Lodestone Golem work forever but felt like I couldn't just let opponents have a completely open turn 1 with no interaction.

I got it don't worry.

I'm not sure if I won this round or tom did.  But if misstep is banned, cabal therapy isn't going to last long. LD will probably still be good though it has been most of the rounds.

I checked over the your matches and mine and I'm fairly convinced by all of them.  Not saying there isn't a mistake but looks like you are the first to get a third star and we lose another free counterspell.
