Fair point Kieran, though this was game 3 and i didn't have essence scatter or switcheroo.  Wurm had also won him game 2 after I had cleansinged away his krenko plus various goblins.

Surely casting the Wurm here is just insane. Since you're W/U and have all your lands untapped he surely at least has to consider an Essence Scatter/Rewind which leaves him totally exposed even with the Staff. And if you Switcheroo for the Wurm his R/G deck has pretty much no way to beat it!
