We are doing this, right?

I mean this effective IS Nationals. PTQ, WMCQ, Legacy Championship, historic drafts, etc.
And if we don't support it this year maybe it doesn't happen next year.
So, Nottingham at the beginning of June?

Does anyone have a non-facebook link of what's occuring during this event?
This is the info on the facebook site, they haven't updated it with real info yet.
***MAGIC CON*** www.MagicCon.co.uk In conjunction with Chimera Nottingham http://www.chimeraccg.co.uk/ Formerly known as the MAGIC IN MAY weekender. It is my intention to run the event that will replace Nationals. Running over the two days will be: Legacy Championship Seniors Tournament Historic Drafts (I promise... more historic than last year :D) plus many other exciting features. MAIN EVENTS PTQ 'Hook' Date: 2nd June Format: Standard Cost: £20 World Magic Cup Qualifier (WMCQ) Date: 3rd June Format: Standard Cost = £20 More details will be added here and on www.Magiccon.co.uk |
Up Friday back Sunday sounds right to me.
We can cube (or test, whatever) in a pub on the Friday night and then rinse the events throughout. Get the last train/car back to London on the Sunday night.
That website is awful sparse for an event happening in less than a month though. Who knows Glen well enough to get the lowdown?
I'll be going to at least the WMCQ. Maybe the PTQ.

Thinking of making a leisurely appearance on the Saturday and skipping the PTQ then staying over in Nottingham and doing the WMCQ the next day.
What about you guys?
Either that, or play the ptq as well.
Is it easy to get to on the train, or better to drive?

I was a lot more excited about this before realising that both headline events were standard. They've clearly put on a great event here, and there are tournaments for all formats, but I'm not sure if I can get excited enough to go for a 2HG championship and Legacy Open.
I don't want to say you are an ungrateful bugger, Ben, but the two headline events are in the format mandated by Wizards and as side events or other scheduled events there is *every other sanctioned format of Magic* (except Block) and some unsanctioned, too! 2HG Sealed, Modern, Grand Melee, AVR drafts, historical drafts, 2HG drafts, Legacy and Vintage! What was it you were hoping to see??!!
Don't think I'll be able to go, have to pick the gf up from Heathrow on Sunday, could possibly do a drive up Sat morning, PTQ then back in the evening tho
Piccadilly line still goes to Heathrow last time I looked ...
I was hoping to see a headline Limited event
I'm still trying to figure out what to do for this.
If I drove down on Friday night and back on Sunday evening, would anyone want to come with?\
Alternatively, is someone else going (car or train) and wouldn't mind me joining them?
