Magic: the Gathering in the UK

Ok I checked out the video on SSG and read the posts in the forum and saw an idea that I thought could be fun.

Someone suggested using these to run a tournament. Say get a bunch of guys together and each open one, play round robin with your decks and redraft the rares.

Is this a good idea or would it just be easier (cheaper) for someone to make up a bunch of these themselves? I dont know how easy it would be put together some decent sets of commons that we could use for sealed decks. Im guessing the boosters would be a lot cheaper though.

Any thoughts?

I'll be getting a couple and using them to play a small league with a few mates who I've introduced to the game. Gives a level playing field, and should be a bit less confusing than trying to teach sealed to complete beginners.
They seemed to just be an expensive way of buying packs- doesn't everyone have more commons than they know what to do with?
I dont :)

Thing is its a way for everyone to have a level playing field. If someone wants to sort out stacks of relatively even commons and uncommons its something we could try.

Or play sealed?

could just play sealed i guess. it just seems have a nice set of c/uc for each player should even the field a bit and give your more deck building options

some of the u/c being the same does decrease the variance slightl in comparison to sealed - e.g. you'll never have "no" removal.
