Magic: the Gathering in the UK

Hey guys,

www.SubmitYourDraft.com is finally available!  I'd really appreciate it if you guys could check it out, have a play around and let me know what you think.  You can use the site in one of two ways:

1. Submit your own MODO drafts, instructions are here: http://www.submityourdraft.com/faq

If you choose to do this, your draft will be available for rating by the rest of the community.

2. Critique other peoples drafts.  On a pick-by-pick basis you can decide if you agree or disgaree.  This will cause the pick to get a rating, modify the overall draft rating and modify the members overall rating.

If you don't want to do either of these, then feel free to just check it out and read the draft recaps.  However, signing up will literally take 30 seconds of your time, no email confirmations or anything painful like that, just the basic details.  Register here: http://www.submityourdraft.com/register

While using the site, if you get an error page, then the problem will be automatically flagged with me.  For all other issues, cosmetic, usability, suggestions etc then please leave me a message here or send me an email: ben.titmarsh@hotmail.co.uk

I'm hoping to build up a bit of a community of contributors and critics.  So to kick it all off, I've submitted a couple of my own drafts.  Please head over to submityourdraft.com and let me know what you think.  I look forward to your comments!

Hey ben I'm not a fan of the change u have made to only have one pick rather than all - it slows it down too much and especially for surfing with the iPhone doesn't work.

I think it is easier to view and review picks when it is in the "drafting with" format.
Ok well what i'll do then is have a link at the top where you can switch back to classic view. Just for you Steve!
Good call Ben - you definitely want a different view on a different device/slower connection.

Maybe call it "steve view" instead of classic for extra votes :)

One pick per page view is nice, but now there's an extra click to see the next pick (used to be a scroll-wheel away, now I have to actually click something, yes, I'm lazy). I do like being able to see the previous picks though. Would be nice if upon clicking the 'Vote' button it moved onto the next page (or there was a 'Vote and see next pick' button)
Don't know how workable it would be, but it would be nice to see the approval percentage for each pick when choosing which pick to view. That way, we could go straight to the controversial picks if we wanted to know what other people thought.

Also, it might be nice to have a "most popular pick" for each pick as well as people's comments - that way we could see which card most people have selected instead of having to scroll down the comments bar.

I was thinking about doing this, but I figured that after voting you might wish to read the other peoples opinions. I might give it a go and see how it feels. I agree, the whole 2 clicks thing is an annoyance.

I really like your second idea here Kieran. That is a key piece of information, that doesn't really scale (as its currently implemented) with the number of comments. I'll put this one in.

The first suggestion would be a little tricky to do from a UI perspective, and I'm not sure generally how much people would get out of it. The default behaviour seems to be to just run through every pick rather than "cherry picking" so to speak.
it would be nice to be able to click someones username and see all of thier drafts.

obviously while there are only 4 people submitting drafts this isn't really an issue but if there were lots of people and you wanted to see someone you know's most recent draft it would be better than trawling through the whole list.
Surely "Steve View" wouldn't allow you to select a card until you'd called over several bystanders for advice ;)

I like this. Added to the list.

Just have to chime in on the new navigation. Not sure if something different is happening on non-Chrome browsers but I am having to choose the next number from the dropdown and click "Go". Which is much more unwieldy than the previous system. I think back to classic/steve view is probably best but auto transitions might be ok.
Do you not see the big link below that says Next Pack?
