Magic: the Gathering in the UK

Hey guys,

www.SubmitYourDraft.com is finally available!  I'd really appreciate it if you guys could check it out, have a play around and let me know what you think.  You can use the site in one of two ways:

1. Submit your own MODO drafts, instructions are here: http://www.submityourdraft.com/faq

If you choose to do this, your draft will be available for rating by the rest of the community.

2. Critique other peoples drafts.  On a pick-by-pick basis you can decide if you agree or disgaree.  This will cause the pick to get a rating, modify the overall draft rating and modify the members overall rating.

If you don't want to do either of these, then feel free to just check it out and read the draft recaps.  However, signing up will literally take 30 seconds of your time, no email confirmations or anything painful like that, just the basic details.  Register here: http://www.submityourdraft.com/register

While using the site, if you get an error page, then the problem will be automatically flagged with me.  For all other issues, cosmetic, usability, suggestions etc then please leave me a message here or send me an email: ben.titmarsh@hotmail.co.uk

I'm hoping to build up a bit of a community of contributors and critics.  So to kick it all off, I've submitted a couple of my own drafts.  Please head over to submityourdraft.com and let me know what you think.  I look forward to your comments!

- auto scroll down once you click vote to next pick would be INSANE GOOD if possible.

- ability to add comment after you've already clicked vote? i realised i needed to justify my disagreement after voting just now, but couldn't retrospectively add a comment
Cheers Dan, more great ideas. How did you find the new card clicking mechanism? I hope it feels nicer.
I think it's great - a lot smoother than before.

Minor UI nit: when you say "no picks" the legend for "my pick, the pick" should disappear also.

Major UI nit: I no longer see a reminder to login (when logged out) nor have the ability to comment. This is Google Chrome on OS X.
You should see the "please login" prompt when you click a card now. If logged in, you should see a comment box. This works in Chrome for me. Surely this can't be MAC OS specific? Can you try firefox please?

For some reason my last message refused to post on this thread even though it shows I posted on the front page! (In case Tom needs to know, I posted, deleted the post, then posted something else - it came up on the page, so I'm not sure where it went!)

Anyway, I had a weird problem with the site yesterday where I'd made to post a comment on Ben's last draft pack 1, pick 2 (World Queller) and instead of my comment coming up when the page refreshed, the pick was replaced with pack 3, pick 15 (the whole section was replaced except for the previous picks, which was still showing only Kor Skyfisher!). Also, my browser (Firefox) seems to have slowed down massively since you made the changes - it takes much longer now for my votes to register (although that might be caused by my useless internet connection, rather than an actual problem with Firefox and the new layout).
Will second Kieran's comment about a slight lag after clicking "vote" in FF.

Also Ben, which blogs you still need putting in touch with? Just emailing somethign else you'll like in a sec ;)

Just saw this on twitter, perfect for you no? - http://www.thestarkingtonpost.com/articles/-/TheStarkingtonPost.com...
The same thing just happened again, so I'll try and list exactly what happened (Using Firefox again):

1. No problems with pick 1, pack 1
2. Selected my pick for pick 2, pack 2, made my comment & clicked vote - nothing happened for a while
3. The voting box disappeared but didn't update the screen
4. I clicked on my pick again and the voting box reappeared with my comment in it
5. Clicked vote again, this time the pack was replaced with pick 15, pack 3
6. Went to refresh the page
7. Got an "Unresponsive Script Error" message - chise to stop the script
8. Page refreshed with the right pack showing pick 2, pack 2 with my comment now there

Ok cheers Kieran. I have loaded that page with a lot of javascript now. Did the "unresponsive script" error tell you which script was unresponsive? I think I know whats causing this, but it could be tricky to recreate.

I didn't record it - if it happens again I'll get the whole message for you

Little thing - if you go to a page when logged-out, and login, you should go back to the same page, not home.
And another - list of drafts you have not yet rated / finished rating - kind of a "to do" list?
