I thought it might be nice to run some Vintage. While the demand for it is not huge (and it likely will never sky rocket), it is a great format and plenty of people (especially in London) have the cards required to play it, so we'll be running Vintage every first Saturday of the month at 7pm (which is around the time when the main event for the day will hit the top-8). I expect it to be relaxed and a lot of fun.
Who knows, maybe it'll inspire a thriving Vintage scene here in the capital, but let's start small on this one, eh? It's sanctioned, because I feel if you own cards, you deserve to play with them and if you don't own power get your Chalice of the Voids and Null Rods out and join the party anyway!
Hope to see a few friendly faces at this one.

I just hope you don't mind playing against the same decks each time!
Meaning what though? Same people with the same decks that they have and like to use, or are you suggesting Vintage is a one-deck (or two-deck) format? If the former, then no, I have no problem with meeting up with friends and playing them again every month; after all, assuming 4 rounds, that's four different decks I get to play against every month even if I get the same opponents time after time! If the latter, well Dan, I think that just goes to show your lack of knowledge, mate. :)
The former. I've played Vintage Nats with a good deck the last two years now, and unlike standard, played a different archetype each round both times!
Then no, I have no problem with that. At the moment the amount of Vintage play I see (and the same is true for many) is zero. Making it >0 is a GoodThingTM. Hopefully, as time goes on, more people will join in and we won't be seeing the same people with the same decks every time! :)
sanctioned? oh man, let me see if i still have g_w_wizards_n_clerics.dec somewhere...
To help mix things up, I don't mind swapping decks with someone else who has a "proper" deck from time to time.
Also I hope we can be gentlemen about it and not just run 15 sideboard cards for whomever's deck you enjoy playing against the least if it is going to be quite a small number of us playing.
Phil - Delver/Snapcaster is quite good in Vintage too, I'm sure you can make a mono-U version if you have Null Rods + Forces.
dan that deck seems somewhat shit without ancestral and time walk lol. if you guys allow a small number of proxies i can play gush...
i have the GW deck sleeved up phil : D
