Another result from last night:

Warren Vonk 2 - 0 Rob Stanjer
Incredible.

The Vonkmeister puts up 4 straight wins to no reply and goes top!

Warren Vonk 11 9 2 20 7 27
Roque Martire 11 9 2 20 12 27
James Mills 9 8 1 17 7 24
Glenn Goldsworthy 9 6 3 14 11 18
Rob Stanjer 9 4 5 10 13 12
Jason Howlett 10 3 7 12 14 9
Gary Lynch 7 3 4 7 9 9
Charlie Grover 5 2 3 6 7 6
Simon O'Keefe 6 2 4 6 10 6
Steve Bernstein 6 1 5 5 11 3
Kieran Symington 9 1 8 5 16 3
Paul Young 3 1 2 4 5 3
Dan Barrett 5 1 4 4 8 3
Nathan Gottlib 0 0 0 0 0 0

Anyone else going to try and snatch it at the last minute?
Looks like it comes down to who is willing to trek down to Nathan's house to play him!
OMGWTFBBQ!!!!
Considering he has played 0 games, I'm guessing he is not actually participating in the league, as he will probably not want to pay the booster to play one game against one of the leaders...

IMO

I should probably add that Warren is only EQUAL top. The revised rules for season 3 split participants on equal points first by games played then by games won. There was no provision made for further splitting after that.

BUT, each of the top 3 players has at least one non-Nathan that they haven't yet played, right?

For Warren I think it is Simon O'Keefe (usually at the club on a Tuesday!) For Roque it seems to be Gary. And James has 3 potential games (Charlie, Simon, Paul), although must play at least two to have a chance of coming top.

I'll make a rule for next time that you cannot play your first match of the tournament in the last week or something similar.
Shit!!

I left my deck at home!!!

Simon, are you going to be at the club tonight, and would you like to play some standard? :D
Also - does anyone have Simon's mobile number?
Hmm ... shenanigans? Warren, care to correct any reported scores or are you happy to face an investigation by the TCI?
In what world is conceding illegal?

As I understand it, concession = win in any magic tournament on the planet. Indeed, a few of my opponents have conceded to me, which is of course perfectly legal.

As far as I understand it, games don't HAVE to be played at the club and can be played online. Rob and I had a discussion last night and a concession was agreed.

As far as the bribery accusation goes, I'm quite frankly shocked.

I conceded to Warren in our game, as we were very short on time as our drafts were about to start, and he was clearly going to win anyway - i'd already lost g1, and was dead on the board in g2.

However, this is certainly quite different from "agreeing" to a concession with Rob on msn or something.
Yes, it's technically impossible to legislate against concessions because both parties can just claim they did play. And I can understand the temptation to get the maximum wins.

But I'd ask you in the interests of fairness to retract any results you have through concession and instead try and play out the matches.

As well as being harsh on those who have legitimately won all their wins it sets a bad precedent. In future leagues will you be conceding to folks who conceded to you in this one if they are in with a chance of winning? Taken to an extreme we might as well just get together at the beginning of the league and decide who we want to win it. Even if that is a bit of a silly version of events the idea that the last stretch of any given league will be decided by who can run around and gather a few concessions is a bit depressing.

How about we scratch your game with Rob and you try and play him tonight or Friday?

(If anyone has any ideas about how we can actually legislate this in the rules of the league let me know - I don't have much in the way of good ideas.)
