Magic: the Gathering in the UK

Rich Hagon: Great Britain – Sad to say, there's not an awful lot that's Great about Britain these days, in Magic at least. Matteo Orsini-Jones is pretty clearly the best player in the country at the moment, followed (arguably quite closely) by Mark Glenister, who came close to posting his first Pro Tour Top 8 in Honolulu earlier this year. Unfortunately, Chris Rossiter, who lost to Dan Gardner in the Final at GB Nats, lost his battle with cancer over the Summer, and so misses a competition he threw all his energies into qualifying for. He will be missed. Joining Gardner are Peter Mottram and Mick Edwards, making for a team that doesn't look likely to improve on a record that isn't exactly sparkling, with 9th as Great Britain and 6th as England the best to date.

I am surprised that he didn't mention up and coming soon to be regular on the PT circuit Stevie 'got any foils' Bernstein.
I'm pretty sure there was a mention of Stevie 'dock any boys' Bernstein in there somewhere.
I don't think our team got that bad a description compared to poor przem:
Luxembourg – Przemyslaw Nagadowski stands alone from the nation with more gas stations per capita than any other in the world. I think this is true, although that could be an urban myth. If Nagadowski takes the trophy back to Luxembourg, that'll be an urban legend.
if our worlds team listens to me on decks I think we have a very good chance, sadly, I don't think it's happening :P

and no that isn't arrogance, atm they're discussing soldiers/wu control in t2 and TRON WITHOUT CHALLICE in extended.... *sigh* maybe next year
Charlie rates soldiers/WW i think, but WU has had it's time in the sun maybe - is Gardner just super attached to calling his deck "barnslayer" and doesn't want to change deck as a result?

Also, Tron?! Really?!

Seems to me our Nats team has the wrong Peter on it... :P

nono, wu control with wall of denial and jar jar sphinx, I actually think he SHOULD play a barnslayer angel deck, or ww, or jund (noone expects jund any more :P)

Obv!
heh, I'm blushing :P
Well, I broke the other Peter's streak against London players in PTQs for you, so stop whining :P
Tell them to play this in extended. Everyone else here shuld to. Its the stone cold nuts, but sadly I dont think ill be playing extended PTQ's this season, so cba to keep "tech" (came 10th at austen, but no one seems to notice it. the guy x-2ed extended, with losses to playing errors):

Thinking i should probably just start playing the "best deck" rather than sticking to what i'm comfortable with, so may well give that a spin as you're so keen.
Cool, but as a heads up its ridicolously hard to play :S
