Would it be worth making the suggestion that players should submit 8 cards of each colour and 5 artifact/land or are you just happy for this to be some whacky experiment where someone is going to submit 45 green 2/2 bears?

I did think about allocating (type + color + CMC) for each card or making people declare the (type + cost) for each card they make but ultimately this is a fun format and the only rule is: make cards that will make it fun!

Functional reprints are allowed, unhinged-style silliness that doesn't (a) require illegal acts or (b) get anyone banned from tgc is allowed, just repeating your 45 favorite cards in the history of magic is allowed if a bit dull.

We'll see how it goes. Afterwards we'll probably think of 10 different things that would have made it better and we can do it again, but better :) This one is an experiment.

If it's really fun we can always do one a month with a bit more structure and have (for example) the "tribal" version where every creature has to be a Giant, a Monkey or a Squirrel (or a Giant Monkey-Squirrel) and so on.

I'll probably try and design mostly balanced and realistic cards with a good colour/type/cost spread, as if it was a real set. Hopefully I'll have some room for some funnies.

Is there any theme Tom, or just a pure blank slate?

If we did this once a month you could then probably cull down into an actual set all the decent stuff.

No theme. But if people want to post the creature types, etc. that they are using for some cross-draft-set synergy that's fine with me. Of course people might then write nerfing cards for your cards, too :)

I know that mine has a number of Wizards so far and that's all.

What are we doing about art?

Do you want us to submit 45 images too, or can we leave it to your discretion?

If you submit in Magic Set Editor format (see link above) then you can add the art yourself or it supplies a generic picture for each color. I won't have time to Google images for 360+ cards so if you guys do it then great else you'll probably get the generic pictures.
