Magic: the Gathering in the UK

I was going to proxy up "The Cube You Can't Afford" ... the 360 most expensive cards to acquire in any tournament-legal form in Magic.

But it turns out it would be rubbish to play with as it's basically just a load of ABU, Arabian Nights and Portal: Three Kingdoms rares.

For interest's sake here's a visual spoiler of the 358 of the 360 approximately most expensive cards in Magic in ascending price order:

(Prices, order and everything else fairly approximate and woolly - appearance of <a class="card">Divinity of Pride</a> will remain unexplained.)

Could you have that as a theme, rather than a rule? So "the 360 most expensive cards that you want in the cube", and take out all of the odd promos, and casual cards and so on?
Believe it or not there aren't really enough expensive yet also playable Magic cards!

Perhaps these 164 cards that cost a fiver or more is something of a start:

But going down as low as a fiver even to get half the cards seems a bit rubbish.

(And I've actually come up with a couple of better ideas for cubes so I will probably abandon this idea.)
There was an idea a while back to do $10 cube where every card closest to $10 is put in. Still reckon that would make for some good drafting.
I was actually gona put together a cube like this for fun... but i'm just too damn lazy.
The ten dollar cube looks approximately like this:

I'm not convinced by any cube that contains Purelace and Yellow Scarves General, though :)
Are you sure this is right? There's some very strange stuff in there. I had no idea Daru Mender was worth $10. Also, I'm pretty sure that Knight Errant is worth about 2p. What's going on?

Somewhere along the line Tom did it very, very wrong. NICE BEARS. And legions commons..
Heh. Blame magictraders.com ... Their stats for Daru Mender sales:

Daru Mender, 29.99, 0.00, 29.99, 29.99, 29.99, 0.00, 1

Averaged out with Mike's price of 25p gives a price pretty close to $10.

Their stats are not perfect (as you can see) but I don't really have anything better and they are really easy to parse unlike every other source of cards prices in the world. I have Mike's prices from quite a long time ago and a version using his prices only looks like this:

http://magic.bluebones.net/ten-dollar-mike.html

But that excludes anything ZEN or later (I think) and is based on old prices.

Mike - any chance of an export of your price db, just card name + current price?
