Magic: the Gathering in the UK

From Aaron Forsythe's article

"Starting with M11, deathtouch no longer ignores blocking order in situations involving multiple blockers. Additionally, you only need to
assign a single point of damage from a creature with deathtouch to each
blocker, which makes deathtouch a potent combination with trample. A 4/4
with trample and deathtouch can assign one damage to a blocking 8/8 and
the other 3 damage to the defending player. "

Hmm. Pretty sure that's what I'd been playing! I obviously don't know the rules.

I guess this explains why Modo wouldn't let me kill 5 of his blockers with my 5 power first-striking deathtoucher the other day? And now it would.

Good change!
its odd that it wouldn't let you.

the current rules of deathtouch are that you can divide damage between any number of blockers regardless of order, so you should have been able to kill 5 creatures with a 5 power deathtoucher.

random rules question. (I know this isn't exactly nice behaviour but thats not the point)

Am I correct that if someone has training ground in play and then pays 3 mana to level up their beastbreaker or 8 mana to use their invoker, i dont have to tell them that they are doing it wrong? They just have 2 mana remaining in their mana pool that they haven't used. Obviously if they asked how much mana they had I would have to tell them otherwise I am misrepresenting the game state but I don't have to tell them how to optimally use their cards right?
Yes.

TBH, anyone that drafts a training grounds, then doesn't know how to use it with levelers, you're prob beating anyways.
