Ascension - anyone wanna play?

it looks like it should be pretty easy to pick up if you have played dominion

do you know how long a game takes?

It says 30 mins, but If you've played Dominion it should be quicker.

I reckon you can play a 2 player game in 10 mins once you know it inside out.

Okay so myself, Amar (and his alter-ego, Nick Lovett), Simon, and Thom played this for the first time yesterday.

The game seems really good, very much like Dominion but a LOT quicker to set up/pack away.

Like Dominion, the interaction between players is quite minimal/subtle in this base set, but I imagine that will change with upcoming expansions.

I won last night, mainly using cycling rune-generation and Yggdrasil Staff to buy honor, rather than the "defeating monsters" route the others were mostly going down.

I really enjoyed Ascention, and definatly want to play again.

Becuase the cards avaliable to buy are constanly changing it plays out quite diferently to Dominion.

It feels a bit like draft in that lot of the interaction is come from working out what the people on your right are trying to do with their deck and not trying to do the same thing.

Last night the seating was Dan - Me - Simon -Amar/Nick .

I was basically trying to do a similar strategy to Dan behind him so was getting cut on cards I wanted. Whereas Amar's deck was completly different so Dan could pick and choose the cards he wanted.
