Demonic Tutor

Magic: the Gathering in the UK

Has anyone managed to get even the chance of a pre-order of one of these?

I've rung/emailed around several shops/sites, and had ZERO luck. And i certainly don't want to pay several hundred pounds for one on Ebay.

To me, it seems likely this will be the one disappointment/failure of an otherwise stellar year for WotC and Magic.

Berserk is rubbish.

If you were a shop owner and you got some of these you'd be pretty tempted not to sell them at 25 quid or whatever RRP is, I'd guess.
While the foils in the box are quite cool, console yourself by realising that very few of them are legal in any relevant format, and even then you might not play the deck that plays them!
But I agree, it's a bit lame to advertise and hype a box set that is supposed to be simply sold in shops, but only produce a very small number of them.
Cheapest I found on Ebay was $100
There's not even that much EDH playable stuff. Balance is banned, gifts is banned, tinker is banned.

Top and mystical tutor would be cool I guess, and lotus petal, necroptence, strip mine & skullclamp are playable. I managed to get FTV: Dragons at RRP last time, If I can do it for this then I will, otherwise not too bothered.
Don't expect this to as readily available as FtV: Dragons.

The UK acquired all the European allocation (for arguments sake) equating to approximately 30% of the total print run of Dragons for less than 2% of the worldwide player base. This time round I doubt we even have as much as 5% of the total print run.

I wouldn't be suprised if most retailers will wait to see what they start selling at on eBay before annoucing what price they will be charging.

Expect to get ripped off if you want one of these. I would advise not buying from the US via eBay as there is no guarantee the seller will get enough or that they will ship to the UK (it's illegal in the US for a shop to sell outside the US).
