No -it means unless Jason affiliates with a store/opens a store then he cannot run FNM and Pre-Releases.
He can still run tournaments and PTQ's etc.

The lack of a store is certainly a concern - Playing Games on Museum St closed down recently, as did the store down in Richmond, and the other stores that even stock Magic (Orcs Nest and GAME on Oxford St) only sell a few booster packs.

Playin' Games has shut down?? What a shame. There's also Forbidden Planet on Shaftesbury Avenue and Dark Sphere Games in Waterloo.

Just to be clear, the only things that will really be affected are FNM (Jason will probably still run drafts on a friday, just without the FNM foils). Local Prerelease (Regional one will be unaffected). Game Day (boo fucking hoo). Doesnt look like it will make a big difference to be honest.

We're not sure on any of this yet, so I'm still waiting on Jason to release an official TGC statement - it may well be he gets the store affiliation necessary to carry on as always.

Others elsewhere in the country may not be so lucky though, I guess. I know Milton Keynes will be hit by this pretty heavy, and Fin + Kev run better events than many stores do, in much nicer/more spacious venues. Need I even compare Toby Carvery with delicious lunch to the "Quality" hotel in Brum?!

I always laugh when I hear it is a 'Quality' hotel, the place is shit hole. I think twice before going to an event there.

I'm just talking about worst case scenario, we lose FNM Foils, Game Day and Local Prerelease. Hardly the end of the world!

It is hardly the end of the world Ben - However, why - at a time when Wizards should be encoraging the growth of Magic further - are they effectively removing tournaments and reward programs from our area, because we do not fit into their (globaly) poorly researched and unpopular model?

Agreed entirely, I think the whole policy is just bizarre. Just wanted to quell some of this panic about an end to The Games Club. The policy is ridiculous and counter-productive but it won't spell an end (assuming no suitable store can be found) to the majority of what The Games Club offers.
