I'm sad, but not that surprised.
Anyone else?

Not a surprise really, cost cutting.
They haven't actually been useful since Cryptic Command anyway so that was a clever way of making me not care about this.

Not important though, to me.
I like textless cards for cube etc so hope they start giving them out some other way.

I imagine the postage cost to do that worldwide was rather annoying.
So pretty much the only promotional cards on offer in London now will be the regional prerelease foils? No more FNM, MPR, local prerelase, local release events or games day... thats quite a cut back!
Hopefully they'll find other ways of giving out promo cards (hopefully not all foils) since they're something that we as players really like, and should have really low costs for Wizards.

How about if they started to use promos as part of the prize for Top Xing at Premier events? If there were only tens to hundreds of some promo in circulation, they'd have pretty high price
Pretty sure Jason is (has?) sorting out store affiliation to avoid that.

Last I heard the plan was to just take the hit on this... run regular drafts on a friday instead of FNM and not bother with any of the local stuff or games day. Jason - has this changed?

I just realised that this does have an impact-
Assuming that a draft isn't FNM, there is no reason to sanction it now.

Everyone's expected rating change is 0, and the majority of players don't care about their rating anyway.

Is this important? If it leads to a reduction in the proportion of events that are sanctioned would that matter?
