Magic: the Gathering in the UK

Seems like a relatively weak but fun set - still some cards worth preordering. Here's what I preordered:

4x Jace the Mindsculptor - £65
4x Creeping Tar pits - £10
4x Celestial Colonnade - £10
4x Raging Ravine - £10
4x Death's shadow - £5

Am I missing any gems in the rough?

My policy is to only try and get hold of cards when I know that I need them for a competition- I don't like gambling on needing/ wanting cards.
I'm interested to see how many other people prefer Warren's method.
Agreed...

However, not having bought Baneslayers at £15 a piece pre-order, I'm loathed to repeat the same error. I don't own a single Baneslayer and probably never will because I'm not willing to shell out $200+ for a set.

I'm pretty much certain Jace is going to be a $50 card, and the manlands are currently SEVERLY underpriced.

They're dual lands AND man lands. That is incredible. Get them while they're $5 is all I'm saying.
I think some of those man lands are over rated.

Also I cant see you wanting 4 Jace in a deck.

I would say the black 6/6 flyer would be worth getting if its cheap.

Someone's read Ben Bleh... this morning eh!
I probably agree with him on the man lands.

I find Jace difficult to evaluate, but the people who are hyping it give the impression of having tested.

The 6/6 seems very good.

My point about not spending money still stands- No matter how good a deal a card is when you buy it, if you never play it, then it was a waste of money.
I preordered 2 Jace for £29. Figured I'd probably get at least one/two more through intensive drafting!
unless you sell it...

If anyone wants it, Jonathan Medina has kindly converted his WWK price guide into GBP for me, i can email the pdf to you if you let me know your email. Amar and Ben T, you asked me for it last time, so have sent it to you preemptively.
This guide has Jace at £12.70, but I can't see anything close to that unless you buy 4. How are these figures calculated, does it only look at Buy It Now?

Yeah but this means nothing unless it only looks at buy it now. Otherwise it includes auctions that have 17 days left where Jace is at £1.25
