After an initial testing session yesterday, I would also point out that Thopter/Depths is... not simple to play. Probably the most demanding deck I've picked up in a very long time (maybe Extended Elves last season?) Add to that the price of Dark Depths (although the rest of the deck is hardly cheap) and trying to dodge it if you have something that beats everything else is probably a non-terrible idea. And Charlie, the card you are thinking of is Night of Soul's Betrayal. The current sideboards from the PTQ Top 8s will probably need changing to take Damping Matrix into consideration, bounce seemed like a kind of awkward way to deal with it. Considering Spell Pierce.
Crovax, Ascendant Hero is run over NoSB in Teachings as you can tutor it up with Teferi in play (I'm assuming that's what he meant).
