Magic: the Gathering in the UK

Amar has his name in lights.  http://www.wizards.com/magic/magazine/article.aspx?x=mtg/daily/even...  He's also 4-1 in the Blue bracket.  No idea how many byes he had.  Anyone else we know there/doing well?

Marco Orsini-Jones is 4-1 (with byes one assumes).  Mills does not appear to be registered for the event despite writing a post on this site saying he had flights and that we would lend Marco 2 Snapcaster Mages in Amsterdam on Friday.  Do I smell an amazing Mills story?

i have also failed to find a mills. there's a JAMES R MILLS on the standings but that appears to be a dutch player...

Yea the usual ENG not working bug, Mills is there and having a bad day, 2-X.

UK players of note I recognise (5-1 or better) on my super-brief skim after round 6:

Hans Jacob (6-0)

Ben Aaron

Bruno Panara

Mark Lailey

Marco OJ

James Allingham (6-0)

Cyrus Bales

Tim Lim

Eduardo S

Roelan VS

My boy Hagrid 8-1 with Dredge.

Which was totally shot down when I suggested it to the GB @ GP Amsterdam Facebook group.

Didn't have fun playing Junk but made the semis of a 32 man legacy event on Sunday playing Goblins and it was amazingly fun to play.

another victory for stoneforge and jace. special thanks to delver of secrets for inexplicably being in lots of winning lists. honorable mention for Mr Sneek, who came in 16th piloting Sneak Attack.

some stats:

number of Dark Confidant in the top32 (MD/SB/Total): 0/3/3

number of Snapcaster Mage in the top32 (MD/SB/Total): 34/2/36

nice job wizards

Yeah I was 4-1 with no byes playing reanimator. Then proceed to go to 4-3 and dropped, would have rather got some food than more PWPs!

On the Sunday I played in the €1500 Modern Championship with Blood Moon Zoo that I played in old extended.

I got to top 8 without dropping a match (5-0-2) and then lost to Richard Bland in the semifinal due to my usual misplaying in top 8s due to being tired and hungry! Still, I won €150 trade credit and some packs - so was a profitable Sunday and a great weekend overall!

after round 6 i was 4-1-1 with one bye but then drew against maverick for the second time that day. the match up gets so much better for stoneblade post board but alot of my games went to time. i played the next round, for points and because i felt like playing and played another GW maverick player. it took us the whole 50 mins to finish one game! i dropped after this.

in the standard i went 5-2 and came 12th or something.
the GP was a lot of fun, organized and in a great location.
