Its a new format, all decks are untested.

Suggest a good G/W Ramp or pod list and I may try that.

" Most of the good players seem to be running a 5 colour control deck"

Yea I've been playing the Gerry T / Michael Jacob 5cc deck, but Marco etc said it was utter trash at the WMCQ... :(

Also this is the latest Gerry T deck for you...

3 Tibalt, the Fiend-Blooded 4 Lingering Souls 2 Unburial Rites 1 Dead Weight 1 Sulfur Falls 3 Desperate Ravings 4 Clifftop Retreat 3 Phantasmal Image 1 Elesh Norn, Grand Cenobite 2 Whipflare 1 Copperline Gorge 2 Seachrome Coast 2 Nihil Spellbomb 3 Ratchet Bomb 4 Blackcleave Cliffs 3 Sun Titan 3 Evolving Wilds 1 Negate 2 Oblivion Ring 3 Shimmering Grotto 1 Ancient Grudge 1 Ghost Quarter 2 Mountain 1 Island 2 Plains 1 Swamp 4 Faithless Looting Sideboard 2 Devil's Play 2 Intangible Virtue 2 Timely Reinforcements 1 Whipflare 1 Day of Judgment 2 Celestial Purge 1 Negate 2 Ancient Grudge 1 Ghost Quarter 1 Ray of Revelation

UGH! Too many Phantasmal Images.

I dont own any of them and there are like 0 available to buy here and literally no one has them for trade.

Also with all those cards in the Brad Nelson deck, why no Restoration Angel? Seems like it would be good.

Perhaps its not the same as what people are running here?

The guys playing the 5 colour deck tend to win a lot, but as they are the best players they probably would anyway.

I still think I want to stick with something similar to the list I posted as im only having to buy 1 Entreat the Angels for it.

Keeping spending down is important as I have already spend money on the pre release this month.

Im going down to the shop this afternoon so I will get a few games in with it and see how it goes, if its awful I will just play ramp/pod.

What does their 5cc list have in it then, out of interest?

No idea what they run, seems like everything that crushes.

I think its more of a Grixis deck actually but runs Shimmering Grotto for some stuff.

My result was 3-3, deck was good fun to play though and it almost always felt like I always had an out to win the game and thats something I like in decks I play, nothing worse than knowing that even if you draw your best card you still cant win.

I actually was unable to get any Noxious Revivals so ran 2 Ponders instead. I actually found them to be pretty pointless every time I cast them. My deck is almost all answers and powerfull cards so choosing the order of them didnt feel very important.

Also one of the guys named it Lucksack Control.

Deck crushes aggro hard. Best turn of the day was when my zombie opponent had 2 Messangers and a Grave Crawler in play. He attacks me, still in his attack phase I cast Think Twice and then Terminus. He was quite tilted as I hadnt set it up with Ponder or anything.

Another nice one was when my Tonkens opponent got wrathed, played Lingering Souls and Flashed it back on his turn. He had 2 Anthems in play so he had 4 3/3's. I go to my turn, look at the top card and BOOM, make 5 4/4 angels.

Bonfire of the Damned is also a really good answer to opposing angels. One opponent made 4 angels on his turn, I draw my card and deal 5 to him and all his creatures.

I lost a sad match to Geoff Fletcher. He was playing G/R Ramp, except he was splashing Blue for Mana leak and Negates in the side. I went to make a bunch of angles, left 3 mana open but he had a negate. Then I went for a Karn, he negated it, I negated back and he Mana Leaked that and I only had 2 lands left open.

I think he was a bit of a sac to pull that off really as I have just seen his decklist and there are 2 Mana Leaks main and 2 Negates in the side.

The other 2 losses were to Delver and an Esper Control deck, against Delver im not sure there was anything I could have done it was one of those games where I cant say what happened really except I lost. Against the Esper deck he just always seemed to be one step ahead.

Overall the deck felt it was capable of some nice powerfull plays and was actually fun (for me anyway).

Think I will try and work on it some more, have a month and a half before the 1 WCQ I can go to and the PTQ is the next day.

But was it 3-0 to 3-3 or 0-3 to 3-3.  This will tell us a lot more!  I guess if you were playing Geoff you were in a good bracket at some point :)

Was 2-0, got paired against regular ramp but then they repaired the round and I got Geoff :(

Then was 2-1, got paired against Delver was 2-2, then 3-2 and finally 3-3.

If I won the last round I was in top 8.

Also 4 of the people in top 8 were people I played against. 1 who was playing tokens who I beat + Geoff + Delver + Esper Control.
