Just ordered 4x Vengevine at $15/ea, 4x Eldrazi Temple at $6/ea, already picked up 4x Bear Umbra at $2/ea

What makes you think Vengvine is gonna be a £10 rare? It costs 4, doesnt have trample and is in a bad colour.

You should be buying all is dust @$15 as a colourless Akroma's Vengance is good.

It's a mythic and goes in a new build of Jund quite likely. Has 4 power to get through walls. Gives more reach in late-game.

I preordered 4 Sarkhan at £7.80 each and 4 Bear Umbra for 75p each (on Dans recommendation, still not sure about this one though!)

Doesnt really give more reach late game as you have to play 2 creatures in the same turn. Either you just played 2 shit dudes or you have a lot of mana and if thats the case there are probably better things you can run that a 4/3 for 4.

Why would Jund run this? On turn 4 you usually want to be casting Bloodbraid or killing a guy to get in damage. In the later game with Jund you are not usually casting 2 guys in 1 turn either so that doesnt seem relevant.

I do agree that Bear Umbra is probably worth a 75p gamble as as long as you dont walk into removal you just gave your guy +2+2 and a regen for free.

I dunno, I read Flores article on mtg.com (with a pinch of salt, obv), had a look on twitter and a few discussions elsewhere, saw it was a mythic, and figured if it is good and played, it is not going to stay at $15 for long.

Also Billy Moreno makes a really good case for post-Rise control late-games essentially boiling down to a package of 4 eldrazi temple, 1/2 eye of ugin, 1-3 eldrazi titans. Already own 4 eye, so picked up the temples to go with it, and will get 3-4 emrakul at pre-re

Yeah see the thing with that is Flores is shit at magic. If it doesnt see much play you just wasted £40.

I think you will see a slightly different version of jund maybe running more cheap haste guys (poss goblin guide) as what ever you think late game, you hit bloodbraid and another haste guy with the 4/3 I think that should swing things. He will defo be worth some nuggets

Momentous Fall does look bloody good, instant speed turns it from crap to awesome.

Not convinced that the Eldrazi will impact std tbh, Eye doesn't tap for mana and boros/ww should still be quick enough to punch through for the win.

Bear umbra looks terrible, except for in a janky Omnath deck.

All is Dust is solid, will be getting a couple of those. Sarkhan is possibly breakable in Grixis planeswalker control (bff with Jace!). Gideon is cute, probably not better than Elspeth, but might come good once Alara rotates.

One thing worth noting is that this is a small ish set for stand alone drafting, so lots will be opened so rares will be worth less.

dan you know you said billy moreno was talking about control mirrors post-rise? are there going to be any control decks? most control decks are pretty terrible right now and i don't think a reprint of wall of blossoms and some infinity drops are going to change that a great deal
