anyone any ideas of when this is as I have to book time off work, I have heard it is in Sheffield (terrible choice by the way), but surely they should have sorted a date and venue before the qualifiers start?

Yeah, I'd expect Nats to be in London or somewhere nearby every 3 years or so. When it's not in London all I really care about is the venue being decent, and it not being in the middle of absolutely nowhere like the NEC where the best chance of getting food is to get the shuttle train to the airport Burger King. As long as the venue in Sheffield is decent and close to cheapish accomodation, I don't really mind.

also if they sorted it out early there would be a chance to find cheap accomodation, as it is we have about 4 months to sort this out, I really hope the event is within walking distance to the town center, I know this is hard to achieve as conference centers are often out of town but it does detract from the event I think

e.g. Brighton was great as there was loads of stuff nearby and the venue was fine.
