I'm sure some of you know manchester well, but some suggestions for nightlife:
The Northern Quarter: Shoreditch/Camden feel. full of good but pretensious bars. Highlights: Trof, Odd, Common.
Deansgate: Shit and full of twats, avoid like the plague. Highlights: The comdey store.
5th Ave: Indie, £1 drinks, airconned dance floor, horny students. (studentcard not required on saturdays)
42nd St. As above with a slightly more mancunian music selection, +woodshavings on the floor to cover the sick later in the evening. The "red bull" here is disgusting and shockingly fluorescent.
The Venue: As above but with a more "classics"
Satans Hollow: As above but Metal/Emo/Hardcore/etc/etc. Club is much smaller with a circular stage in the centre and fucking massive prosthetic satan over the DJs.
FAC51. Better music, more expensive drinks, more drugs.
Canal Street. Fun whichever team you bat for.
Great breakdown!!
I will up for going out Thursday, Friday and Saturday!

I've got a meeting today which will determine whether I can come or not, probably 30% likely atm.
Great summary Thom, is Jabez Klegg still open?
Manchester has it's own version of Meatliquor in the Northern Quarter http://almostfamousburgers.com/ comes highly recommended for filthy food and filthy drinking
Jabez is still there, as is Big Hands is you want to venture that far (15 mins) south
City guide article is up, please feel free to chip in your suggestions in the comments, Thom!

Also - those going from London:
Have proposed this to some people (Nathan, Ben Twitchen) separately already, but let's meet at 9.30am at Euston, that way we can get some nice seats with a table on the 10am train so we can play on the way up there. :D
nope, still all go for my project go live :(
