Magic: the Gathering in the UK

Race For The Galaxy is one of the best games ever. If you've never played it, or find it difficult to get a game because you've got no friends, then today's your lucky day. Below is a link to a downloadable version you can play against the computer. The AI is pretty decent (though I'm fairly certain it cheats as it seems to know what's in your hand) and will probably crush you until you get the hang of it. What are you waiting for?

I'll happily kick all of your arses at this game... lets play it at the games club sometime
I will play this game but I would prefer it if we could play some more interactive games. This game doesnt really seem to matter what your opponents are doing and there doesnt seem to be much you can do to stop them winning.
Cos you know, dominion is so interactive..
I know, thats my point. I think im done with the solitaire multiplayer games.
dominion is meh.

A nice game of snap or high dice would be better..
How about Global Thermonuclear War?
You stop your opponent winning by beating them in the race, just like Zendikar limited!
The interactive part of Race is the most important part - phase selection. If you can repeatedly select phases that benefit you but not your opponents whilst making sure you gain advantages on your opponents' phases you will win.

The second expansion also had a feature where you can conquer other people's worlds, but it's a little contrived and doesn't happen very often. The best version of the game is with the first expansion as you also get a bunch of goals like "Be the first to own a 6-cost development" or "Be the first to have 5 VPs". Beating your opponents to these goals is really important.

I'm determined to punish you for your overconfidence Ben. I challenge you to a Race!

I will punish your insolence! I've been pretty close to topping 100 in two games with the expansion (95 and 97), think Jason only has the base game though?

The base game is the best anyway. How the hell did you score 97? Games I play usually end on about 50! If you're at the club tomorrow it's definately on!
