I wouldn't say that it's really slow but you do often both end up with a bunch of guys in play and the erruption is amazing.
I probably wouldn't usually spash a double casting cost card but as you have the dual land and the spellbomb I think it's worth it.
I think you can usually splash things like shatter or even arrest as your decks normally have lots of artifacts so hitting your coloured mana early is not as important.
You nearly always want to run your off colour myr but I think that pool has too many good cards for it to be worth while.
This is one of the best sealed formats in a while as there seem to be plenty of ways to build your pool and synergy is more important than just playing the best cards.

Gary, how embarrassing is Eruption for 1 on a board of x/2's though?
Like, what is the average value of it when it hits, and what % of the time does it hit?
Spending 12 mana over 3 turns to not do anything feels like it could be terrible.

I guess you can work this out by taking a bunch of sealed pools and working out your odds on hitting certain casting costs.
Don't think I'm gonna do it though. I have seen too many blow outs to not think this card is good.
I have thought of another option for the deck though and that's to play both acoders shields and play much more defensivly. Infect guys wearing this are pretty hard to get by and you could just rely on your drgons and proliferate to win the game.
You should definatly be playing the blast even if you don't play the eruption.
