Magic: the Gathering in the UK

Any one go to this? How did you do? What did you Learn about the fiormat? What about your deck?? Would you make any changes or play differently??

I will make my post later when I'm not at work.

It was only 5 rounds cut to T8 (17 players), which mean 3-2-0 got in with decent breakers, and 3-1-1 got me 5th place in the Swiss. The T8 was:

Vampire Homebrew (Splashing Red)
2 U/W Control
4 Jund
Runeflare Trap (Go me)

I need to test a ton against Jund as it seems I have to get a Time Warp either T5 or T6 to win, or I get my face smashed in.
i went 1-3! wooooooot
I played Chapin control and went 2-3 (one was a bye).

I'll probably not play it again, at least not the stock list.
What deck? Was it the deck? Bad match ups or bad luck?

It was a 4 colour Ziggurat Allies build - it seemed to goldfish well but not do anything in reality.
Why not? What did yo have problems with? What would you change?

It was a jund - jund final. Wei won it with his build including rampant growths. Jason will prob be putting up the Top8 lists on the website soon.
This is the deck I ran to a pretty poor 2-3 (losing twice to Jund and once to B/R) Check out the DT card tags - I hope it's still working:

3 Sunspring Expedition
4 Ior Ruin Expedition
4 Journey to Nowhere
3 Courier’s Capsule
4 Crystallization
4 Oblivion Ring
3 Day of Judgment
2 Vapor Snare
3 Sigil of the Empty Throne
4 Open the Vaults
4 Halimar Depths
1 Kabira Crossroads
2 Celestial Colonnade
4 Terramorphic Expanse
2 Marsh Flats
2 Scalding Tarn
2 Tectonic Edge
5 Plains
4 Island

Not bothering posting the sideboard, but most of it turned out to be unnecessary. As it was, I learned a few things from my defeats - namely that I lose to the new manlands (should have seen that coming) and burn - the combination of which was responsible for all my defeats. Plus, if the game went long at all I would win without needing to get stupid card advantage from Open the Vaults. The new deck, then, will look like this for the upcoming nats qualifier:

4 Sunspring Expedition (Added the fourth to combat burn)
4 Ior Ruin Expedition
4 Journey to Nowhere
4 Crystallization
4 Spreading Seas (Answers Manlands)
4 Oblivion Ring
4 Wargate (Tutors things directly into play - including lands)
3 Day of Judgment
3 Sigil of the Empty Throne
4 Halimar Depths
4 Seaside Citadel
4 Terramorphic Expanse
2 Marsh Flats
2 Misty Rainforest
5 Plains
4 Island
1 Forest

Plus there's a new sideboard
4 Cancel
4 Luminarch Ascension
1 Quest for Ancient Secrets
3 Refraction Trap
3 Ice Cage (Needed to stop Malakir Bloodwitch)

Will probably lose horribly, but it's fun to try things out....
I had problems with EVERYTHING.

Just couldn't keep up with Jund (lost to it twice), and even if i managed to go one-for-one for the first 4/5 turns of the game, they ended up pulling ahead - even with wraths, or drawing lots more cards with treasure hunt etc, it was never enough.

Bant is probably a much better deck for me to play, or just suck it up and go Bernstein (jund)

Why open the vaults? Looks like all you can return is couriers capsule. Did you not consider the deck that top 8'ed the pro tour?

OtV returns Enchantments as well as Artifacts. It effectively Wraths the board with O-Ring and Journey and throws your wincons on the table.
