You have to shuffle the cards so no one knows what you’re playing.
Who it’s said by: The guy who taught Mr. “Why is this still in the pack” how to draft.
Why this is obnoxious: This player has watched competitive drafts and figures “what works for the pros should work for me.” However, this player also hasn’t grasped the concept of signals (but loves to use that word throughout the draft anyway).
Proper response: Yes, that way we can all get more practice playing five color good cards.

seems to me to be encouraging cheating, and an idiotic grasp of signalling demonstrating the writer to be a complete idiot....
There's some merit to the "How is this still here?" comment, but I agree with Charlie. Is this bloke suggesting that by shuffling we are ruining our signals because we are not putting the signal cards on the top? Or because by leaving them in order it would make it easier for the person to our left to see if we've taken a common/uncommon/rare?

Seems dumb.
Yea on a re-read that one is a bit stupid - it's not exactly hard to flick through the rarity symbols if you wanna know what someone may have taken...
He's really right about "what is this still doing here" though. I take a vow not to say this again!
I've been thinking of the times when I've said this. I think what I really meant to say was "why didn't I take all the other decent cards I've been seeing in this colour?"

I can't remember ever saying 'why is this still here' while drafting, I normally think to myself 'wow, this must have been an awesome pack'.

I've never really understood the benefit of shuffling cards while drafting either :-/
I personally shuffle the pack because when I compare cards I bring them to the front of the pack, which is kind of cheating if you leave it in so you 'hint' to your opponent what colours you are drafting.

As regards "How is this still here", there are sometimes where you take a bomb rare over top-tier removal and table the removal (happened at the Pre-Re for me, tabled Vendetta).

Things that happen at pre-releases dont count for proper examples, cos pre-re players suck hard.
It's an example of me thinking Why the card is still in the pack though :) I was very surprised.

To be fair, the answer to that question (especially at pre-re's) is usually because people are bad.
People at pre releases aren't great.
On the "why is this still here?"- Every time that happens/ I think/say it I wish it were possible to have recorded the draft so that we could all see why. Wouldn't anyone else like to know how often it's because people are bad compared to people being in their colours for good reasons and not being able to take an off colour bomb?
yeah, recording drafts would be sweet. also if you could get everyones reason for making a pick too, its nice to see what people are thinking even if its wrong.
