Just a heads up to fans of the Eternal format:
Time & Date: 12pm Saturday 19th November 2011
Prizes:
1st place: 4 x Volcanic Island
2nd place: 2 x Wasteland
3rd place: 4 x Black Bordered Swords to Plowshares
4th place: 4 x Black Bordered Brainstorm
Decklists, appropriate tokens, etc will be required. No Proxies. Entry £15 . Pre-booking recommended.
This is the first of what we hope will be many large scale Legacy events in London. Future prizes can change in the future according to feedback, and nothing is out of the question (incl. power). Frequency of events is flexible and will be gauged on the success of this tournament. We hope that you can spread word and help us create a friendly competetive (and most importantly, stable) Legacy environment in London.
We are commencing a fortnightly Legacy championship which is £5 entry fee into a grand prize pool at the end of the season. Full proxies are allowed to provide the best testing environment. Full details are available here at http://www.darksphere.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?f=39&t=259
In addition to this we're looking to start weekly Standard events on Thursdays with the usual Booster pool prizes. More info will be released soon as we release an updated calendar to cover the Christmas period.
Tournament prizes are subject to change but will be confirmed well before the arranged date.
Cheers all,
Mark Gunther

There are lots of valid points on here.
The Games Club and other London TOs have run events in the past, paid for the room hire, put up decent prizes, advertised the event well in advance and then had a small number of players attend and they have lost money.
So, why would they do that again?
Warren, do you turn up every month and support the constructed events? They might be 8 mans, but they are cheap to enter and a number of different constructed events can be played on the day. There might be a small prize support, but when the entry is cheap what do you expect or want from the TO? If more people turned up then there could be bigger events!
Dave, as you said Jason has been asked to run events and he has and I believe he will again, but he has been burnt before so it is natural he would be cautious about taking on all the cost. Would you as an individual take on the cost and risk?
I am all for Darksphere setting up these events, it is good for Magic in London and I hope it works this time as it has been done before and those TOs are no longer around!
Are these prizes guaranteed for the event regardless of turnout, or will some of them magically disappear due to "poor turnout", as happens in other parts of the country?
It would be nice to know small details like these before we turn up!
Philip.

They are guaranteed :)
How much of this has already been allocated to the original prize cards?
We can now announce a Mercadian Masques block draft for our, at a price of £15, including prize pack.
We can also announce a side event of ZEN ZEN WWK draft for our Modern event on the 12th, with ZEN pack prize pool. Entry for the event is £16 (incl. prize pack also).
Drafts will commence at the start of Round 3 for both events.
I'm guessing you will also have INN drafts available?
imho INN draft format is pretty fun and skill intensive - more so than Masques or ZZW.
and want to practice for the final ptq in manchester ;)
INN Drafts will not be available unless there is popular demand on the events. We run multiple drafts during each week (we have drafts on the Fridays before each event), so we've reserved these 'premium' drafts for our special events.
What deck will you be bringing Phil?
