Date: Saturday 3rd March - 12 noon
Where: Games Club - County Hotel
The idea:
* You design and submit 45 Magic cards in Magic Set Editor format
* Send finished cards to sim.okeeffe@gmail.com
* So do 7 other people
* We print them all out, shuffle into boosters
* draft and enjoy!
From comments in other threads it seems like there is definitely some desire to do this again. I personally had loads of fun, both designing and playing with the cards.
Threads from 1st time around:
You Make the Draft I - Initial thread
You Make the Draft I - Preliminaries
You Make the Draft I - Aftermath (includes link to visual spoiler of all created cards)
You Make the Draft II - Initial thread
You Make the Draft III - Aftermath
Things we learnt from the first time & suggestions:
In the YMtD II there was some consensus that people wanted to design a big block of cards in a particular colour. We could certainly approach it this way.

do you have shares but only in those sleeves, I am happy to contribute.
After a couple more of these we should put some/all into a cube and bust that badboy out

Ultra Pro Raven Black. You know it makes sense.
Okay I've sent Magic Madhouse an email to get them to bring enough sleeves tomorrow. I don't mind paying out for them, you guys can buy me a beer or something.
I've done a test print at work while everyone else is in a meeting and it looks good, so I'll aim to print the remainder this evening. Just waiting on Tim's cards, unless he is printing them himself, and Tom's if he even made any :-)
I have enough extra cards to get us up to about 270 in total so we can support 6 players on the day.
Cheers Simon, really looking forward to this I shall also be picking up some cans for the dreaded 12-4 stretch of no bar, anything you want?
I've just compiled all the submitted sets together. Good job on colour balance guys, all colours are exactly equal except for black which has 10 extra. I'll cull some of my black cards.
Populous races are: Human, Frog, Bear, Demon, and Spirit, with Wizards dominating the class breakdown.
RE: beers - not lager, I'll just grab myslef something on the way I think.
cool beans man, it was clearly my massive slide towards black. Someone went overboard on wizards, i didn't have a single one
I hope all bears are 2/2
Not playing as I'll be GPTing, but look forward to seeing what you got for this. :)
Well if I can get the cards printed today, I can cut them this evening, so then it will be just sleeving. I say we should still aim for around noon. Means we would be drafting by 1pm at the latest I imagine.

What time are we looking to kick off? I assume there'll be a lot of manual labour to do before we can actually play...
I ended up working late last night, so will finish up my cards and print them off on the sly in the office on Saturday morning on the way in. Does Jason have a guillotine at the club for cutting out purposes?
I've got original art for all of the ones I've made thus far - presume that everything should have a nifty picture, right?
Great. I'm pretty sure there will be a guillotine there as they have to cut up the result slips for the GPT somehow. And yes everybody's cards have art so far.
Is your set of cards colour balanced Tim?

In my experience you want maximum number of scissors. Many people with scissors > one person with a guillotine.
(It's like making boosters for a cube draft - many hands make light work.)
I shall try and bring/buy some
