London NQ (9th April) and GPT (17th April)

Hello,

 

Just wanted to let you guys know about two events we've scheduled!

 

National Qualifier - Saturday 9th April

The format is Standard and will be based on Swiss Pairing, the top X (where X is one for each full 8 that enrolled) will be qualified for Nationals! 

 

The event is being held at Hennessey's (near Aldgate tube station) where we have hired the whole venue especially for the occasion. 

Places are limited and can be bought from the website or from our London shop. Prices are £15 and includes a light buffet lunch and a two booster per person prize pool. There will also be side games. 

London Grand Prix Trial -  Sunday 17th April

The format is Sealed and will be based on Swiss Pairing followed by a top single elimination 

Places are limited and can be bought from the website or from our London shop. Prices are £32 and includes a two booster per person prize pool. 

Tournament begins at 12

why don't more TOs include buffet lunches?!

Because not every one wants one and working out who is and who isn't willing to pay for one in advance is awkward.

 

Whenever I've talked with the players in MK about the possibility the general response has been 'No thanks, we would prefer to pay less at the door and sort ourselves out.'  Horses for courses I guess.

I have to agree with Dan, I do not mind paying more for something, but if it is not value for money or amazing as Dan puts it I would be annoyed as well.

 

Saying that I am unlikely to be there as I qualified in Southampton, :-)

Hi Glenn,

 

Doors open 10:30 am

Tournament starts at noon

Doors close at 10 pm

(There will be opportunities for side events and casual play both before and after the tournament)

We're asking people to pre-register/buy their ticket in advance to make the planning easier for us and also so we know numberers for the caterers 

It's being held at Henessey's which is at 36 Jewry St, Aldgate, London EC3N 2ET

Thanks Alexi, I will show up but won't be prepaying for the event.  I know the pub well (5 mins from work) nice roof garden

The tournament will be in the restaurant part but we'll be hoping for some sunny weather so we can enjoy the roof garden as well :)
